Greetings Folks,

Gladys and I are planing to be out Friday afternoon/ early evening.
We will be happy to help out on Saturday with any Course work. We plan on manning a check point for the race.

It seems like forever since we have seen you all. Been busy with work and other stuff.

So... Did I miss the dinner planning for Saturday night? Who is dressing up like a turkey? I will bring my pea shooter. He he he.

I can bring (2) 6' tables.
Do you want me to bring my P.A. system?
Who is up for an outdoor movie? I can bring the projector.

Sounds awesome!! Scott and I had just talked about how much fun it would be to have a Movie Night in the Dez

Food plans: I think the guys that are going to be out all week are working on switching off cooking each night and usually everyone tries to go into town on the Thursday night before the race, but we should definitely plan a Potluck for Saturday night!

Any ideas?

Worker slots are filling up quick by the way, so if anyone else is planning on working please let me know! I think I am down to about 10 slots left for what I need as my minimum #. It would help me out if I knew who had trucks, bikes/quads, utv's or any special talents with the placing of everyone!! I know I have spoke to several people already regarding probable positions, so you guys are good to go.

Also, does anyone have any idea's on where we will be storing the Food Drive items? Since this is our first time doing this we are winging it I guess. I am also going to share that apparently someone is not happy about us doing this Food Drive and I was emailed regarding it. I would not typically post something like this, but I feel that this nonsense is out of hand. The idea was a nice one with Thanksgiving being the following week to our race and we are doing this with an open heart and generous spirit. The Club's intentions were to help others less fortunate and that is what we will do no matter what anyone else thinks with everyone's help!!

===That's all I will say about this, but just everyone do your best to make our Race and Food Drive a HUGE SUCCESS!!===

I don't know how big a pit you are planning but I can bring another turkey if that works?  If not, I can do the green beans.

If no one has had pit turkey before you are in for a treat!!!

Glad for firewood Wes but the turkeys are all sealed up so it doesn't have to be special wood just no plywood or painted stuff. You guys got me thinking if we need 2 turkeys there's a chance we might want a 2nd family makeing mashed potatoes? Its gona be a great time hope we have a great turnout

Let me know if we need more fire wood. I can bring some oak. I will be out Friday afternoon late or early evening. Why would somebody complain about a food drive?? See you all next weekend.

Saturday Nite Food
Gladys and I will bring the Green Bean Casserole.
Also, my mom will have Carrot Salad to share.
I am getting really hungry for some Fire Pit Turkey and the flavor additives that only outdoor desert cooking adds.

Movie
I was thinking of a movie that had a Thanksgiving theme. What about Steve Martin's "Planes, Trains, and Automobiles"? There is some adult language, anyone with kids have a concern with that movie? Any other choices?

PS- I notified the Denny's in El Centro to expect 40 of us... Just in case.
